McIntosh: we have not agreed to it, will not agree to high-rises
Simmons: let's keep it healthy and beautiful and not overburden ppl, road
Q: What will downtown look like in the future?
McIntosh: will be "eco-tourist" destination for Florida, draw students from FGCU
Simmons: "we have the bones there already," will only get better with young professionals, seniors moving in
Steinmeyer: traffic downtown will not change, has not changed since he's been here
Q: Where does your opinion/vision differ from other candidates?
McIntosh: vision for downtown is unified, will have green space, classes from FGCU
Simmons: wants to preserve east end of town, wants to make area along Bonita Beach Rd. "pop"
Steinmeyer: Bonita is retirement community, not a college town, not Fort Myers or Naples
Q: If overpass is not answer at U.S. 41, Bonita Beach Road intersection, what is?
Simmons: this was on "fast track" to be federal flyover
McIntosh: it was study, would have never passed
Steinmeyer: money for study would've come from taxpayer, why waste money if it wasn't going to be built

Steinmeyer: says it is expensive currently
Simmons: need to look at alternatives like beach shuttles, need to preserve environment

McIntosh: proud of what city has done, couldn't do it without partnering with BSFD, LCSO

Simmons: in favor of expanding gaming, need to stop racing the dogs

McIntosh: it's about jobs, economic development
Q: How do you protect quality and quantity of drinking water? Protect from flooding?
McIntosh: BSU is on it, won't build in DRGR
Steinmeyer: we're not going to run out of water
Simmons: voted against development in DRGR, need to let more water flow south

McIntosh: private investment will come downtown, permitting is fast
Simmons: keep taxes, spending low
